Undercoat Support

Make sure iCloud is signed in and enabled for Undercoat on both devices, and that each device has an internet connection. A recent update fixed an issue that could keep a collection stuck on a single device, so updating to the latest version should also help.

A recent update specifically fixed blank icons, so updating to the latest version from the App Store should resolve this.

Sign in with the same Apple Account you used to purchase Pro, then look for a restore purchases option in the app’s settings to reinstate your subscription or lifetime unlock.

Make sure Undercoat has camera access in Settings, hold the barcode steady and well lit, and try entering the paint by search or by hand if the barcode is not in the catalog.

Export is part of Undercoat Pro. If you do not see the option, check that your Pro subscription or lifetime unlock is active.

The latest version is 1.2, released on July 10, 2026. To update, open the App Store, tap your profile picture, pull down to refresh, then tap Update next to Undercoat. You can also turn on automatic updates in Settings › App Store.

Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Undercoat to change or cancel your plan. Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid the next charge; deleting the app does not cancel it. Refund requests go through reportaproblem.apple.com and are decided by Apple.

Open Settings › Notifications › Undercoat and make sure Allow Notifications is on. Then check that a Focus mode or the Scheduled Summary is not holding them back, and that the reminder is turned on in Undercoat. Reminders are scheduled on your device, so they work without an internet connection.

Open Settings › Privacy & Security › Camera (or Photos) and turn on Undercoat. The pictures you attach stay in the app and are never sent to us.

In Undercoat, use the option to delete your data in the app’s settings, where available. Deleting the app removes the data stored on that device. To remove the copy kept in iCloud, go to Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Account Storage, select Undercoat and delete its data.
