Bonsaiku follows a season by climate calendar built around where you live and the time of year. Instead of a single generic schedule, it suggests the task that fits your tree’s species, the current season, and your local climate, so a maple in a cold climate follows a different rhythm than one in a warm one.
Watering reminders work the same way: the suggested interval is based on the tree’s species and the season, rather than one fixed number for every plant.
What can you log for each bonsai in the care journal?
Bonsaiku’s care journal covers every stage of bonsai care: watering, fertilizing, pruning, wiring, unwiring, repotting, pinching, defoliation, pest care, and winter protection, each with photos attached.
For tasks beyond watering, such as feeding, pruning, pinching, pest care, or wiring, you can set your own rhythm per tree, choosing your own interval or accepting a cadence suggested for the species. A rhythm can also rest outside the growing season, so nothing prompts you to feed a dormant tree in midwinter. Wire checks are timed to the species itself, for example five weeks for a maple and twelve weeks for a juniper.
