In depth

Goutly, in detail

How does Goutly help you track gout flares?

When a flare starts, Goutly lets you log the affected joint, your pain level and any suspected triggers in under 10 seconds. Over time, this record can help you and your doctor see patterns behind your flares.

With Goutly Pro, you can see how food, alcohol, hydration and weather relate to your own flares, so trends become easier to spot.

How does Goutly track uric acid levels?

You can log your uric acid in mg/dL or µmol/L and follow it against a clear target you set. Goutly Pro adds uric acid curves, trend lines and the time spent in your target zone, so you can see progress at a glance.

How does Goutly check the purine level of foods?

Goutly rates the purine level of more than 180 foods as Low, Moderate or High, so you can check a food before you eat it. You can also add your own foods, build reusable meals, and import or export your food list as a CSV file.

What’s new in Goutly

Version

1.1

Most of this update comes straight from your feedback. Thank you.

  • Water, your way. Set several one-tap amounts — a small glass, a mug, a bottle — and log any other amount freely.
  • Made a mistake? Tap a drink in your journal to correct the amount, or swipe to delete it. Apple Health stays in step.
  • Bring your own foods. Import a food list from a CSV file instead of typing it in one by one, and export yours whenever you like.
  • iCloud, clearly. Settings now shows whether syncing is really on, when it last ran, and what to do if it isn’t.

Also: the location permission message is now translated in every language.
